Instilled in 1945, FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) is a nonprofit as well as student led organization available for all students ranging from grade six all the way to grade twelve.
FCCLA is the only student led organization of its kind with Family as its main focal point. This may be seen through various ways such as solving issues concerning:
Today, FCCLA has expanded across all four corners of the US reaching out to 49 states and even has ties to countries across seas like Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Japan. All of these states have individual chapters which is usually the members of FCCLA within any given high school. Together, the members work together and focus on creating chapter projects that combat issues within the student body, community or even a nationwide problem. These projects help FCCLA members build valuable skills that will make them marketable within the workforce as well as more equipped in ones home.
To promote personal growth and leadership development through Family & Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communications, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
